I've always liked the concept of the King of the Ring tournament. How would you feel if they brought it back, but as a Pay-Per-View of course. They can bump something stupid like Bragging Rights.
One thing, though, WWE, I know you're listening... Not EVERYONE who wins the belt needs to change their gimmick to being a king. It's stale. They also need to pick a winner they're serious about. Remember when Sheamus won and they just buried him? What were they thinking?!
Your thoughts.

I always liked it. It had a purpose, kind of like The Rumble. If I recall, Brocks win at KOTR set up his first title win against The Rock. Was thinking about that during Raw1000. Was I the only one?

A lot of people have been calling for this to come back, if not exactly, then under a different name/theme. I'd be all for it, like most older fans I used to love the June months for the KOTR tournament every week building up to the PPV. I can only assume the reason we don't see it coming back is that a tournament format is too similar to actual sports and that's the image that Vince is trying to keep away from for now.

I like the KOTR and think it would be extremely beneficial to bring it back. Make it a big deal and have all the belt holders refuse title matches that night to enter the tournament. Put Punk and Bryan in the final and give them 45 minutes to 'shoot'. It may be kinda boring for some fans, but, again, I think would go a long, long way in 'legitimizing' the competition. Personally, I never saw many of the 'old' King of the Rings; however, when Bret Hart won the one in the 90's (after having been a WWF champ too, if I recall) as a kid I thought it was the biggest deal because Bret freaking Hart had won it.
Anyway, like I said, I'm in favor of bringing it back. Use it for a few years and have guys like Punk, Bryan, maybe even Undertaker in his old MMA mode win it. I.E. Punk winning a 16 man tournament in one night definitely makes him 'Best in the World'. Push it that way, make fans believe it...and then maybe every few years go ahead and put a young guy over. I think they screwed it up last time by continually putting younger guys over and at a point it loses it's luster when the top dogs aren't also associated.
