I read The Rock and Jerry Bruckheimer pitched a drama to NBC about wrestlers in the 80s. The network actually committed to it, most likely due to Bruckheimers involvement more than anything. But that's neither here nor there where Im concerned. The network backed out. I bet it would be a great series and would be willing to give it a chance. The problem Im guessing is that they worry it would only appeal to wrestling fans. I think the general age demographic could possibly keep ratings up. But then Im not a network executive. What do you think?

Network television take a chance on something new? What are you crazy? No, they'd rather do a cut-and-paste family sitcom, or a show that continues to pander to a secular society or a "new" talent show or rip off versions of other shows from other networks. I'm shocked NBC doesn't have their own version of FOX's 'Glee' yet.

Same here. Only kidding. These days it seems the slightest whisper will doom a new idea for original programming.

It's a shame as it's something I would have loved to have seen. I thought the networks would have been all over it after the success of 'The Wrestler'.
